Annual Columbus Mental Health Center Fun Run

Mary Cameron, BG Stillwater

Stillwater Prevention assisted the Mental Health Local Advisory Board members at the annual Columbus Mental Health Center Fun Run. It was cold and rainy and not many runners showed up, but those that did were enthusiastic and ready to run or walk! There were a lot of great prizes donated by area businesses including gift cards and gift baskets worth $25 to $200. As participants mingled around waiting for the beginning of the race, Stillwater Prevention offered the opportunity to play Corn Hole and walk away with a ParentingMontana.org refrigerator magnet, drug free magnetic locker clip or both depending on their score, and ParentingMontana.org printed material. Runners ranged in age from 8-60 years old. It was nice to see those that participate year after year, and the those that are new to the event. As the runners came in, they each chose their prize from those donated by businesses. Everyone walked away a little damp, but feeling pretty good about the event.
