National Make a Difference Day

Volunteer with the Montana Conservation Corps for National Make A Difference Day

The Montana Conservation Corps is once again setting up a chance for you to work alongside your fellow residents of the Helena community for 2013’s National Make A Difference Day. This day is all about gathering people together around the world, despite age, location, and their resources, in order to make a difference within their community. Now here’s your chance to make a difference in Helena, Montana!

The Montana Conservation Corps is a non-profit organization dedicated to empower young adults to improve our communities. With the help from individuals of all ages, we will be able to lead groups of determined and dedicated volunteers to complete the three main projects created for this national service day. For our event, we are seeking volunteers who are willing to spend a few hours on Saturday, October 26th from 9AM to 1PM to work with the Montana Conservation Corps, City of Helena, and the Helena Community Gardens. Our projects will consist of:

  • Helena Community Gardens: Maintain the garden behind the YMCA
  • Memorial Park: Provide mulch to the trees within the park & maintain the park
  • Kindrick Legion Baseball Field: Maintenance & preparation for winter and 2014

To complete these projects within a 4 hour time interval, we will divide the assembled volunteers into three groups and send them with leaders and a sponsor to each station. Refreshments and a few door prizes will be distributed at the end of the event!

If interested, please RSVP to either 406-495-9214 or [email protected]. Upon arrival, please sign in at registration being held at the amphitheater found in Memorial Park.
